James Ferguson has enjoyed a whirlwind autumn and he will try to finish with a flourish when Mise En Scene takes her chance in an open-looking contest under Oisin Murphy.

In El Bodegon, who fairly demolished his Criterium de Saint-Cloud opposition, Ferguson has a live Derby contender for 2022, and Mise En Scene also has bundles of potential.

This Siyouni filly found plenty to get up in the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood in August before coming from a pretty forlorn position at the rear of the Fillies' Mile field to eventually grab fourth.

She will need to be sharper here to hold her early position, but is clearly a resolute sort who will hit the line strongly if she can keep within touching distance. That said, Murphy's mount hasn’t been helped with a car park draw in gate 13.

"She's very capable of winning a big one – I think she's very special," Ferguson said of Mise En Scene. "I think she would have given the winner a run for her money at Newmarket with a clearer run but that's the way big races can go – everything can happen very quickly.

"I think she'll jump out quick enough and then it all depends on what happens on the day. If she gets out quickly and is able to slot in, great. If not, you may have to ride for a bit of luck."

Dave Loughnane has also sent over a smart type in Hello You, who was second in the Albany after racing keenly. Just a couple of lengths behind Mise En Scene at Goodwood when little went her way, this Invincible Spirit filly built on that with an authoritative victory in the Rockfel Stakes in September. With the reopposing Cachet, second then, since placed in the Fillies' Mile and Jumbly, who was fourth, an emphatic Listed winner, that form has a strong look to it.

Hello You has bundles of early pace so she could be a formidable contender here if she sees out the mile trip on her first stab at it, while the George Boughey-trained Cachet hasn't won since landing her maiden at Newmarket in May but is consistent.

Ryan Moore has been booked for French runner Malavath. Francis Graffard's Mehmas filly has won her last two at Chantilly, including a 6f Group 2 on her most recent start.

At around 7-1 the field, this has a winnable feel to it for the Europeans, especially as Pizza Bianca, the favourite with several firms, was well beaten into second by Charlie Appleby's Wild Beauty in a Canadian Grade 1 on her most recent start.

Koala Princess and Cairo Memories, both unbeaten in two starts at a lower level, are other American fillies to consider.

What they say

Christophe Lorieul, assistant to Christophe Clement, trainer of Pizza Bianca
She's very lightly raced. She broke her maiden at Saratoga and came back to be second in the Natalma. She's doing well.

George Boughey, trainer of Cachet
She has a great post position in gate three. She's fresh and is pretty smart away from the gates. I couldn't be happier with her. She has only run around a bend once so that will be a bit different but she seems to have adapted well out here. I've thought for a while this could be a good place for her.

Brad Cox, trainer of Turnerloose
We're excited about getting her back at a mile and on a firmer course. She's training extremely well.

Dave Loughnane, trainer of Hello You
Royal Ascot had got to her and she was over-racing, and her first two races after that were about getting her to relax. It all clicked in the Rockfel and I'd be very bullish about her.

Phil D'Amato, trainer of Helens Well
I think she likes this deeper course. In her last race at Santa Anita the turf was extremely fast, yet she was again finishing fastest. I think her style is more conducive to the surface here.

George Leonard, trainer of California Angel
She's doing well, she's ready. She's getting happier and happier every day. This is quite exciting. It's been great so far.
