Punters plunge into French colt In Swoop as testing ground awaits at Longchamp
Support for German Derby winner In Swoop has snowballed as punters look for alternatives to Enable and Love in what promises to be a rain-sodden Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Runner-up last time to Mogul in the Grand Prix de Paris on Arc trials day, In Swoop could have been backed at 40-1 at the weekend, but on Wednesday night was just 9-1 or 10-1 with most firms, with the forecast for further rain at Longchamp from Friday fuelling punters' enthusiasm.
Informed of the sustained support, trainer Francis Graffard replied: "I have no idea where it has come from, but his whole family – as well as his sire – adored soft conditions, so hopefully he isn't a complete outlier.
