How to bet on the 2022 Grand National: online, app, in shop or on course
It is Randox Grand National day and as ever the world's most famous jumps race looks feverishly competitive. There are 40 runners to cast your eye over and if you fancy a bet on the race there are a number of different ways to put your stake down.
5.15 Aintree Saturday: Randox Grand National racecard and betting
Online
Your first port of call has to be studying the form and luckily the Racing Post has you covered with all the details on each horse, trainer, jockey and even the pedigree. Furthermore, you can place your bet directly through the racecard with your bookmaker.
This is available if you are a customer of bet365, Sky Bet, William Hill, Paddy Power, Ladbrokes, Betfair, Coral, BoyleSports, BetVictor, SportingBet 888Sport and Tote. You simply need to select your bookmaker above and on the right-hand side of the racecard, then place your bet without needing to go anywhere.
You can make deposits through debit card, credit card and PayPal (with some bookmakers) to your existing accounts too.
If you do not have an account then you can also sign up for one, and take advantage of free offers, through the Racing Post website. Take a look at the various offers here.
You can also bet on the bookmakers' website and, given how popular the National is, it should not be too difficult to find the market on their respective homepage. It is also recommended to take notice of the various safer gambling settings available.
App
Have you got the Racing Post app? If not, you can get it here or on the Apple Store or Google Play store for free.
It is just as easy to bet through the Racing Post app as it is online. On the far right tab choose your selected bookmaker and login.
Finding the Grand National card, and everything you need to know for the race, is simple. Just select cards, big races and select Randox Grand National. When the race is off you can also watch it live through the mobile app.
You can take advantage of free bet offers on the app too, simply by selecting the bookmakers logo in circles at the bottom of the screen.
Elsewhere, most bookmakers have apps which can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play store. These should also contain easily accessible safer gambling settings.
Betting shops
You can head to the betting shop to place your bets for the 2022 Grand National. A quick Google search should help you show your closest shop and the staff should be able to guide you through the process of placing your bets. Here you can bet via debit or credit card or with cash.
Shops were closed for the National last year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but this time around they are braced and well prepared for their busiest day of the year.
On course
If you are lucky enough to be at Aintree – or another racing fixture – for Grand National day then you have the option of placing your bets the old-fashioned way.
Most on-course bookmakers, even at other tracks, will be taking bets on the Grand National throughout the day. Some will display odds on a separate board so you can see prices available.
If you bet early, make sure to specify you want a bet on the Grand National, otherwise just tell the bookmaker your chosen stake, whether it is a win-only or each-way, and the name or number of the horse. Each bookmaker is different, but most accept credit or debit card and cash.
The bookmaker will give you your betting slip and it is worth checking it is correct. Then, hopefully, you can return it for winnings after the race.
