Sandown's loss will very much be Leopardstown's gain after Impaire Et Passe's connections said they would skip the Virgin Bet Scilly Isles Novices' Chase this weekend in favour of a clash with stablemate Ballyburn at the Dublin Racing Festival.

The Willie Mullins-trained seven-year-old was the 6-4 favourite for the Sandown Grade 1, but testing conditions have deterred connections from making the long journey from County Carlow.

Instead he will run a day later in the Grade 1 Ladbrokes Novice Chase, with the runaway winner of the 2023 running of what is now the Turners Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival set to meet clash with the horse who won the same race in similarly impressive fashion last year. Impaire Et Passe is a best-priced 9-2 for the 2m5½f Grade 1 behind 8-13 favourite Ballyburn and another potential Mullins-trained runner in Champ Kiely.
