1 Amhran Na Bhfiann

Lightly raced and his form got a big boost in the Irish Derby. Outsiders from this yard have won before.

Trainer: Aidan O'Brien
Jockey: William Buick
Draw: 5
Odds: 80-1

2 Emissary

A beaten even-money favourite on reappearance this season but is held in the highest regard by his Classic-winning trainer.

Trainer: Hugo Palmer
Jockey: Jim Crowley
Draw: 4
Odds: 33-1

3 English King

Created a big impression to win the Derby trial at Lingfield and will be high on the shortlist of many. Has a tough draw to overcome.

Trainer: Ed Walker
Jockey: Frankie Dettori
Draw: 1
Odds: 4-1

4 Gold Maze

Still a maiden and needs to overcome a quick reappearance after finishing sixth in the Irish Derby last week.

Trainer: Jessica Harrington
Jockey: David Egan
Draw: 16
Odds: 200-1

5 Highland Chief

Needs to prove he has Group 1 quality but an impressive winner of a big handicap at Royal Ascot last month.

Trainer: Paul and Oliver Cole
Jockey: Ben Curtis
Draw: 13
Odds: 16-1

6 Kameko

Best form in the race thanks to his 2,000 Guineas success but now needs to show he has the stamina to contend at this trip.

Trainer: Andrew Balding
Jockey: Oisin Murphy
Draw: 11
Odds: 7-2F

7 Khalifa Sat

Stable's second string but looks to have progressed well from two to three and should have more to offer.

Trainer: Andrew Balding
Jockey: Tom Marquand
Draw: 14
Odds: 50-1

8 Max Vega

Group 3 winner as a two-year-old but will need to improve after disappointing on his seasonal reappearance at Kempton.

Trainer: Ralph Beckett
Jockey: Harry Bentley
Draw: 7
Odds: 40-1

9 Mogul

Jockey bookings suggest he is the stable's first string and is surely better than he showed at Royal Ascot.

Trainer: Aidan O'Brien
Jockey: Ryan Moore
Draw: 2
Odds: 8-1

10 Mohican Heights

Ran well behind Pyledriver at Royal Ascot and looks another with plenty of untapped potential ahead of his first Group 1 test.

Trainer: David Simcock
Jockey: Andrea Atzeni
Draw: 15
Odds: 20-1

11 Mythical

May have needed his reappearance outing at the Curragh when beaten at odds-on but his trainer means he has to be respected.

Trainer: Aidan O'Brien
Jockey: James Doyle
Draw: 10
Odds: 90-1

12 Pyledriver

Caused an upset to take a Group 2 at Royal Ascot and looks to have bags of stamina on his side.

Trainer: William Muir
Jockey: Martin Dwyer
Draw: 3
Odds: 18-1

13 Russian Emperor

Hampton Court winner at Royal Ascot and looks the type to mount a serious challenge with the stable's number two in the saddle.

Trainer: Aidan O'Brien
Jockey: Seamie Heffernan
Draw: 6
Odds: 5-1

14 Serpentine

Broke his maiden at the third time of asking last time but has yet to step into waters as deep as these so far.

Trainer: Aidan O'Brien
Jockey: Emmet McNamara
Draw: 12
Odds: 20-1

15 Vatican City

Excellent second behind Siskin in the Irish 2,000 Guineas but breeding suggests this trip may just stretch him.

Trainer: Aidan O'Brien
Jockey: Padraig Beggy
Draw: 8
Odds: 9-1

16 Worthily

Least experienced runner in the field. He won at the first time of asking at Newbury last month but would be a surprise winner.

Trainer: John Gosden
Jockey: Martin Harley
Draw: 9
Odds: 33-1

The Verdict

Lots went wrong for Kameko in the 2,000 Guineas, yet he still won with authority. The Guineas is traditionally the best trial for the Derby and, if he stays, Kameko wins.
