Nicky Henderson 'won't pour petrol on the fire' with another public gallop for Constitution Hill - and he gives an update on another star

Constitution Hill will not have a public gallop before the Champion Hurdle to avoid critics of the horse "pouring petrol on the fire", trainer Nicky Henderson has said.

The future of the unbeaten eight-year-old was questioned after he was outshone by Sir Gino in a gallop at Newbury in November, his first public show since a flat piece of work at Kempton last February that led to his absence from last season's Cheltenham Festival.

Two wins in 31 days at Kempton and Cheltenham have restored the glowing reputation of the 2023 Champion Hurdle winner and Henderson sees no need to put his stable star under the public microscope again until the Unibet-sponsored showpiece on March 11.
