Henrietta Knight hails 'fantastic' Galopin Des Champs and predicts top chaser will join Best Mate in Gold Cup history books
The challengers to Galopin Des Champs' Gold Cup supremacy will be unveiled on Tuesday, but Henrietta Knight believes Willie Mullins' "versatile" star is destined to join her legendary Best Mate in the history books in March.
Entries for the Cheltenham Festival’s main event, plus the Champion Chase and Ryanair Chase, will be published at lunchtime and are likely to bring some vibrancy to the ante-post markets.
Galopin Des Champs could become the fifth horse to land a much-coveted hat-trick of Gold Cup wins, a feat achieved by five-time scorer Golden Miller, Cottage Rake, Arkle and, most recently, Best Mate between 2002 and 2004.
