British Champions Day: the hot favourites on Saturday
Kyprios
Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup (1.20)
Forecast odds: 8-11
The Aidan O'Brien-trained Kyprios shot to stardom in 2022 with an unbeaten season that included success in the Ascot Gold Cup and Irish St Leger. However, an injury meant he endured a difficult – by his standards at least – 2023, finishing second on both of his starts.
The son of Galileo has bounced back seamlessly this year, however, winning all six of his races this season and regaining his Gold Cup crown in the process.
Kyprios and Ryan Moore – arguably the best jockey in the world – make for a formidable duo and the pair look set to follow up their Prix du Cadran victory at Longchamp with another win at Ascot this Saturday.
O'Brien's star was a neck-second to Trawlerman in the 2022 Long Distance Cup, but that run came off the back of a defeat and with this year's race arriving with Kyprios on a six-race winning streak, he looks a worthy favourite for the 1m7½f contest.

Looks the 2024 champion stayer; not far ahead of Trawlerman; French win was just two weeks ago
Kinross
Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes (1.55)
Forecast odds: 5-1
The British Champions Sprint is arguably the most open race on Champions Day but favourite Kinross is still worth keeping on side.
He was beaten by just a neck in last year's race and showed he still has the speed to mix it with the best sprinters around when finishing a close second in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp earlier this month.
Some may look at the absence of Frankie Dettori, the legendary jockey who rode Kinross to victory in this race in 2022, in the saddle as a negative, but Rossa Ryan is behind only Oisin Murphy in the 2024 Flat jockeys' championship and he has ridden the talented sprinter on his last four starts.
Spotlight comment
Winner and runner-up in this race last two seasons; retains all his ability; high on the list
Charyn
Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (3.15)
Forecast odds: 5-4
The Roger Varian-trained Charyn faces some stiff competition in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, but he has proven himself to be Britain's top miler this season with a series of impressive performances.
After finishing second in the Lockinge, Charyn went on to record a decisive victory over Saturday's course and distance in the Queen Anne Stakes and has held his form since.
A win in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville followed before a respectable second in the Prix du Moulin at Longchamp in September, a race in which his jockey Silvestre de Sousa is convinced Charyn was still the best horse in.
Spotlight comment
Two Group 1 wins this season (including the Queen Anne over course and distance) and has leading claims
Economics
Forecast odds: 6-4
After a quiet introduction as a two-year-old, Economics burst on to the scene with a spectacular victory in the Dante and has since backed up the big impression he made that day with victory in a Group 2 in France and a thrilling success when upped to the highest level in the Irish Champion Stakes.
That victory at Leopardstown saw him beat dual Derby winner Auguste Rodin and has added to the hype around the Night Of Thunder colt ahead of his bid to complete the Irish-British Champion Stakes double.
Economics has plenty of top-class challengers, not least well-fancied French raider Calandagan, but his performance at Leopardstown was so impressive that he is difficult to oppose here.

Very progressive three-year-old; game win in the Irish Champion Stakes most recently; rising star
