Gavin Cromwell has enjoyed success at most of the big festivals over jumps and the top dual-purpose trainer now has his sights set on the Breeders' Cup at Del Mar with Fiery Lucy, who is set to tackle the Juvenile Fillies Turf at a track he thinks could be tailormade for her.

Cromwell is convinced the sharp mile at Del Mar will be right up her street as the daughter of Without Parole had enough speed to win her maiden over six furlongs at Fairyhouse.

Fiery Lucy would have won two big pots already this season had it not been for Heavens Gate, who beat her in the €300,000 Ballyhane Stakes at Naas in August and again in the Group 3 Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh last month, when there was only a neck between the pair.
