ITV will now show City Of Troy's much anticipated Breeders' Cup Classic bid in a two-hour broadcast of the meeting on November 2.

The terrestrial TV broadcaster has updated its scheduling having previously stated the fixture would not feature on air. The programme will start at 8pm on Saturday and include coverage of the Breeders' Cup Turf in which the British and Irish-trained Rebel's Romance and Los Angeles are among the favourites.

Nine races were shown on the Saturday of the meeting at Santa Anita last year, but only three from Del Mar will be broadcast this time. The Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, set to be headed by Yorkshire Oaks heroine Content, will also feature.

The news was celebrated by ITV Racing's lead host Ed Chamberlin, who will head up Sunday's coverage of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

"Everyone wanted to try to make it happen, especially with City Of Troy going for the Classic," Chamberlin said.

"I've no idea how the schedulers have done it and I'm not totally sure what channel it's going to be on, but hopefully it's a sign of our commitment having races like the Arc and Breeders' Cup free to air to everybody."
