Connections of City Of Troy and company set to discover Breeders' Cup draw fate late on Monday

There will be some nervous connections around the Del Mar paddock late on Monday afternoon local time as the all-important draws are held for the 41st Breeders' Cup. The ceremony starts at 11.45pm GMT.

Del Mar is one of the tighter dirt courses in the US and the turf layout that runs inside the main track measures just seven furlongs, while the home straight is comfortably under two furlongs.

That means a wide draw can be a significant disadvantage in certain races, none more so than the turf Mile, which features arguably the deepest European challenge in Saturday's races.
