Frankie Dettori's victory in the City of York Stakes was a world-class piece of pace judgement and one of the smoothest rides you will see all year.

From the stalls, Art Power and Pogo were very quick into stride, whereas Jumby and Dr Zempf missed it ever so slightly.

At this early stage, David Allan made a conscious decision to stay out wide on Art Power. I think he'd planned not to get in a duel with Pogo and chose to just race away from that horse early on.
