Who are the biggest movers among the top ten trainers and jockeys?

Graeme Rodway with his pound-for-pound assessment of how the very best chasers, hurdlers, trainers and jockeys measure up

Introducing the all-new Racing Post Power Rankings: do you agree with Graeme Rodway's picks?

Movers and shakers: jockeys

There is only one place to start in the jockeys' division and that is with Jack Kennedy, who moves up six places into the top four for the first time and is riding at the top of his game.

Kennedy has booted home 12 winners from his last 40 mounts, for a 30 per cent strike-rate, and among those was a big-race double at Fairyhouse on Sunday, with Mighty Potter landing the Drinmore and Teahupoo springing a big surprise in the Hatton's Grace.

It's as you were for the most part for the rest, although amateur Patrick Mullins has dropped out of the top ten and Tom O'Brien sneaks into tenth spot as the sole new entry on the list.

O'Brien might not be lighting it up in the same way that Kennedy has done in terms of winners, but he helped Zanza home to a big-race win at Newbury recently and has had multiple seconds and thirds in the last two weeks. He is another jockey who is in good form.

Movers and shakers: trainers

Over to the trainers and Dan Skelton is enjoying one of the hottest runs of his career so far. He made it three big weekends in a row when landing the Becher Chase at Aintree on Saturday with Ashtown Lad.

Previous victories for Protektorat in the Betfair Chase and Le Milos in the Coral Gold Cup mean that many now see Skelton as the go-to man for the all the big Saturday races and he already has the market leader for the December Gold Cup at Cheltenham in Midnight River.

Skelton is the sole new entry on the list and comes in at number eight. However, if he continues to bang in the big-race winners, he is sure to keep on climbing up the ranks.

Sebastopol's win at Newbury last week wasn't enough to keep Tom Lacey in the top ten and Philip Hobbs and Emma Lavelle are on the move. Hobbs saddled Zanza to score at Newbury and had a big win with Dolphin Square at Sandown on Saturday. He is now hitting top gear.
