Easy one. Who was the best horse you ever rode, and why?Ray McKinlay
I have to mention two – Nashwan and Dayjur – and they came along at the same time. Dayjur was the fastest horse I ever rode, and I believe the fastest anyone ever rode. Nashwan was exceptional, he could have won from six furlongs to a mile and a half, although he didn't truly stay a mile and a half. His class always saw him through. Potentially the best horse I ever rode was Prince Of Dance; in the yard, we thought he was a better horse than Nashwan.
