David Jennings counts down the horses who have got him giddy as the jumps season gets into full swing
Apologies in advance for not including the likes of Energumene and El Fabiolo, who both commence the campaign with question marks but could easily win the Champion Chase if back on song, while others to narrowly miss the cut are Jade De Grugy, Majborough, Marine Nationale, Kargese, Golden Ace, Caldwell Potter, Dancing City, Romeo Coolio and Wingmen. So, here they are, the 25 most exciting jumps horses this season . . .
25 Anno Power
Oozed class during her bumper days and the way she scooted clear to win a winners' race against her own sex at Cheltenham in April stamped her as well above average. Has the size and scope to make a real name for herself over hurdles and makes the list ahead of Let It Rain, but only just.
Prediction: The Listed Byerley Stud Mares' Novices' Hurdle at Taunton in December, won last year by Queens Gamble, would look a logical mid-season aim and odds of 33-1 for the Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle look very juicy indeed.
