'We are hoping to build on last year by getting a Grade 1 in the bag'
Flying start to the campaign bodes well for Lambourn trainer
A flying start to the season has put Jamie Snowden and his 60-strong squad on course for a best ever season. In the 2019-20 campaign Snowden racked up a personal best tally of 46 winners, as well as his first success at the Cheltenham Festival, but things went downhill last year, largely due to the pandemic and his winning tally was halved.
“Things have gone very well this summer with 17 winners already, and that is from a smaller summer team than we had two years ago when we set our best score,” says Snowden. “What is so exciting for us is that we have what I believe to be the highest-quality horses in the string as we move into the autumn/winter months.
“Last year we had two individual winners at Grade 2 level and now we are hoping to build on that by getting a Grade 1 in the bag.
