Truckers Lodge could fulfil long-term plan with Welsh National victory

He got a bit jarred up in the spring, the first time in his life he’s had an issue of any kind, so he’s not been out since February. Came in a bit later than the others but is getting there now and may return in the Coral Ascot Hurdle, in which he finished second last year. What an amazing servant he’s been! In 34 runs for us he’s been out of the money only six times. I know he didn’t win last season but he put up any number of good placed efforts in Graded company. I could be temped to try him over fences again in a graduation chase at some stage.

After his Wincanton win I probably ran him again a bit too quick when he burst a blood vessel at Kempton next time. We’ve learned he needs more time between his races, needs to be kept fresh and to be running round the smaller tracks.
Overland Flyer
8g Westerner - Love Train
Colm Donlon

RPR 133c OR 128c
Operates around the smaller tracks over fences and loves fast ground; I’d been hoping to get him out earlier but it’s been too wet. Reappears in a 3m handicap chase at Taunton on Thursday and he’d make a good hunter chaser if anyone’s interested in buying him.
