'Saturday horses are key and I believe we may have a few more this season'
While the past 18 months have been difficult for everyone, it has not stopped the continued growth in numbers and quality at the Cheshire stables of Oliver Greenall. He more than doubled his previous best with 37 winners last season and has made a strong start to the new campaign with 16 already on the board and a raft of exciting youngsters ready to be unleashed.
Greenall, along with Josh Guerriero, has assembled a team that he hopes can take them to more of the big races this season.
“We have our biggest string and I feel we have a much stronger team quality-wise,” says Greenall. “With such a good start and hopefully so many exciting youngsters to get out in the coming weeks, it’s not unrealistic to think we can get past the half-century by the end of the season. We’re very keen to improve our strike-rate as well. Saturday horses like Herbiers, who landed a big prize at Sandown in April, are key to greater success and I believe we may have a few more in the team this season.”
