'Our novice chasers are as good as anyone's in Britain - and this one is a proper horse'

Ben Pauling earned more than £1 million in prize-money for the first time last season, helping to lift him into the top ten in the British trainers' championship, and his trajectory is firmly on the up.   

"We keep building from the bottom and very rarely buy proven stock from anywhere else, it's all built from within or the point-to-point field," says Pauling of his philosophy for success. 

"Last season was really positive with some horses who are starting to make names for themselves in novice company, and hopefully they can go on to become proper horses of the future."
