'She is my idea of the Arc winner' - Robbie Wilders selects his ten

Five of the 23 bonus races in the Tote Ten To Follow are 1m2f contests and five are over 1m4f, so I want half my team to consist of middle-distance horses.

Alpinista was unbeaten last season and her outstanding campaign culminated in a hat-trick of top-level German victories. She is my idea of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner at this stage.

The Roger Varian-trained Teona is top class on fast ground and might be flying slightly under the radar. She beat Snowfall in a French Group 1 before running a belter at the Breeders' Cup.

There are three mile bonus races open to older horses and Baaeed will clean up in those. Even if connections step this half-brother to Hukum up in trip, his dominance should continue over 1m2f.

There are few better Irish-trained mares than Pearls Galore, who can belatedly gain a first Group 1 for the excellent Paddy Twomey.

It is worth selecting a few three-year-olds, and I fancy Piz Badile to go well in the Derby with Frankie Dettori booked. He could be one for the St Leger later in the season too.

While I would be slightly concerned about Desert Crown winning the Derby, he is undoubtedly the correct favourite there. Any horse who can win the Dante on their second run by more than three lengths must be out of the top drawer, and he is open to huge improvement.

Of the Classic fillies, I want Magical Lagoonon on my side for Jessica Harrington. A smart juvenile, Magical Lagoon has improved at three and merits consideration for races like the Ribblesdale Stakes and Irish Oaks after an encouraging return when easy to back in the Salsabil Stakes.

Every stable needs a stayer and Kyprios is surely a Group 1 winner in waiting. The 14-length Saval Beg scorer spices up the division and can make hay in the top marathon contests.

I will also take two sprinters to complete the squad. Cheveley Park Stakes winner Tenebrism failed to get home over a mile in the 1,000 Guineas and compensation awaits dropped in distance. She reminds me of the stable’s former July Cup winners US Navy Flag and Ten Sovereigns, and could go well there.

The high-class Minzaal is lightly raced and among the best Britain has to offer over 6f. He should step forward from his comeback third in the Duke of York behind two race-fit sprinters.
