It was, admittedly, not the start I was hoping for.
"It's very straightforward, there's nothing to know," says a stone-faced Ryan Moore as we walk side by side up Leopardstown's home straight on a stiflingly hot July afternoon, a couple of hours before Point Lonsdale wins the Tyros Stakes and cements his position at the summit of next year's Derby market.
There was that initial sinking feeling of being at one of Marco Pierre White's cookery classes yet not receiving any recipes, but you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs so we crack on and continue walking.
