History can repeat itself as Allaho fancied to rule again in Ryanair Chase
Dave Orton weighs up the current talent in the intermediate chase division
Since the inception of the Ryanair Chase in 2005, the intermediate chase division has continued to strengthen and last season’s contest was one of the strongest Grade 1s of the Cheltenham Festival.
This season it once again promises to be a jewel in jump racing’s crown with some of the highest-rated performers in training locking horns with exciting second-season chasers.
The admirable Min set the template last year with his repeat all-the-way success in the John Durkan at Punchestown in December, the form of which proved key as the season developed, putting himself firmly on course for a bold bid to follow up his 2020 Ryanair success.
