Troubled Cheltenham a distant memory as Fergal O'Brien scoops valuable prizes across Britain
Chris Cook reflects on a memorable weekend for a certain trainer

For one reason and another, Fergal O'Brien didn't get the Cheltenham Festival he was hoping for, but things could hardly have gone better since the circus moved on from Prestbury Park.
The Gloucestershire-based trainer has saddled 11 winners from 23 runners in that short space of time and cleaned up on Saturday, when his four successes included Leloopa in the Ladbrokes Herring Queen, a series final handicap hurdle for novice mares at Kelso.
On a day when the Borders track was in the spotlight for the second time this month, the five-year-old mare looked some way ahead of her mark, pulling eight lengths clear of her 11 rivals. O'Brien has won the contest before and it would be worth remembering his record in the race for next year, if any of us were actually capable of storing such information for so long.
