We've got a fair bit of the point-to-point season still to come, but this week's Punchestown festival is a brilliant ending to a great season on the track for Irish racing. We saw top-class action at all the home festivals and another outstanding Cheltenham.

In all the time since I started riding, Punchestown has gone from strength to strength. This year, with the crowds back, the venue picks up where it left off before the pandemic.

The great thing about this week is that it's more than just about the top-level championship races. There's something for everyone. The place has remained true to its history, with the old banks course forming part of the challenge of the modern cross-country track.
