Not a vintage weekend ratings-wise - but exciting Chianti Classico's Ascot victory has a strong look to it
The jumps season is back in full swing and we had quality racing on both sides of the Irish Sea over the weekend, most notably from Ascot, Down Royal and Wetherby.
Taking centre stage at Wetherby was the Charlie Hall Chase, with last year’s second Bravemansgame heading the market, but it was The Real Whacker who came out on top for his first win since March 2023.
The Real Whacker largely had the run of the race from the front, jumping well throughout, and wasn’t for catching once quickening.
