Nicky Henderson and Jamie Snowden make a familiar trek as anticipation mounts for Newbury's big weekend
Unlike their counterparts in Newmarket, which contains not one but two racecourses, Lambourn trainers don’t have the luxury of a track right on their doorstep.
Thankfully, though, the 16-mile journey from the village to Newbury is a relatively straightforward trek, either via the M4 or along the B4000, and it's one that many of the locals will be making next week, with anticipation growing ahead of the track's two-day Coral Gold Cup fixture, its biggest meeting of the jumps season.
A strong Lambourn contingent is guaranteed when there’s racing at Newbury – as there was for this week's annual gallops morning that now precedes the Coral Gold Cup meeting.
