Montassib an obvious Champions Sprint contender - but this 40-1 shot should also come into consideration for Ascot
The fact the first six home in the Sprint Cup at Haydock were double-figure prices shows how open and unpredictable the top sprinting ranks are.
None of the first three had competed in open Group 1 company before, though, which suggests the more unexposed legs are the ones to follow as the winter draws in.
The winner Montassib was trimmed to 6-1 (from 14) for the Champions Sprint, which looks a prime target given his record on soft ground and the likelihood of it materialising at Ascot.
