Gosdens' stable likely to prove hugely popular as training duo open to the public for first time
Preparations are well under way for the tenth annual Henry Cecil Open Weekend, due to take place across the weekend of September 21-22 – and much of the excitement in the town focuses on John and Thady Gosden opening the doors at Clarehaven for the first time in the event's history.
The open weekend has undergone a shake-up this year, overseen by chairman Charlie Fellowes in what could be his last year at the helm, after some trainers refused to open in 2023.
Trainers will now open their yards in alternate years and the likes of the Gosdens and William Haggas have agreed to join in for the first time, although Haggas's turn won't come until 2025.
