Novice picture develops as My Drogo and Blazing Khal impress at Cheltenham
The novice chase picture continues to develop, with the headline figure over the weekend being provided by My Drogo (154).
A somewhat unfortunate loser on his chasing debut (fell when leading and going well), My Drogo made amends in no uncertain terms, admittedly faced with inferior opposition but beating them handsomely. There’s still room for improvement in his jumping but he remains a top prospect, the Turners Novices' Chase (formerly the Marsh) reportedly his target at the Cheltenham Festival.
In the staying division Threeunderthrufive made it three from four over fences with success in Doncaster’s Grade 2 December Novices' Chase. It wasn’t a strong race for the grade but Threeunderthrufive improved to an RPR of 153 despite not jumping as well as previously over fences, a level of form that already sees him close to winning an average running of the National Hunt Chase.
