To wander through Malton is to see a town transformed. Painted across the side wall of a property is the 1747 Hannah Glasse recipe for a Yorkshire pudding. It's a piece of art that harks back to the past in a place whose present and future are all about quality cuisine.

Malton is Yorkshire's food capital, a magnet for visitors made irresistible by its markets, eateries and shops which range from traditional bakeries to an establishment selling fancy French macarons at equally fancy prices.

Malton has changed over the years, as has the magnificent mare who now stands as undoubtedly its most illustrious ambassador.
