Carlos and Yann Lerner tell Scott Burton about past successes, family continuity and Look De Vega
As family training partnerships go, Carlos and Yann Lerner are a good illustration of how differing temperaments can complement one another.
For much of the hour spent in their office discussing the two men's careers and that of Look De Vega, their big hope for the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Carlos plays the wisecracking Falstaff to Yann's newly serious Prince Hal; it is very much part 2 of Shakespeare's Henry IV this morning at Lerner HQ.
But if Look De Vega fulfils the hopes and dreams of father and son on Sunday then Longchamp will very much rhyme with the sentiments behind the Bard's All's Well That Ends Well.
