Trainer Tom Clover talks to Lewis Porteous as he aims for his biggest winner at the end of a remarkable year
What Tom Clover described as a "rebuilding" year back in the summer is turning into something rather more memorable for his team at Kremlin House Stables in Newmarket.
Metaphorically speaking, he started the current campaign with one hand tied behind his back after losing 28 horses in March, but that storm has long since passed and 2024 has turned into a year of personal bests for the affable 39-year-old.
He topped £600,000 in prize-money for the first time in a year last month and his 33 winners since January is more than his previous record of 30 in 2022. Throw in a first runner in the Derby back in June and, by anyone's standards, the rebuilding process appears to have been a smooth one.
