The problem with a couple of trainers having most of the best horses is that it’s hard to know which races certain horses are going to run in.

I once sat next to Willie Mullins on a Cheltenham preview panel and he suggested he was going to declare Fiveforthree for the Supreme the following morning, only for him to change his mind and decide to run him in the Ballymore 24 hours later.

As usual, he was right, but it just shows that no decisions will be made until the very last minute and that makes suggesting having a bet in any of the novice hurdles a tricky proposition.
