One of the most common refrains at Ice London last week was, "what's really new?"

Anyone near the Racing Post Cafe – renamed this year to reflect the rebrand to the Spotlight Sports Group – could quickly answer that one, pointing to the Racing Post display screens previously seen at the new Coral and Ladbrokes concept shops in London and Birmingham. As Leo Walker, head of greyhound product and trading insight for GVC, said: "The Racing Post digital displays set the standard."

A key difference at Ice London 2020 was the emphasis and attitude to responsible gambling. There is always plenty of cynicism around this subject but real change was the hot topic. The industry has grown up, partly because it had to.
