Bowler making name for himself with commentary role

It is amazing to think it's already just a few months short of a decade ago that a teenage Gareth Topham embarked on a 12-hour round trip from Cardiff in order to answer an SOS for the commentator gig at Aspatria's Cumberland meeting, and nailed it.
That point-to-point call was to be the first of many for the man behind the mic at last Saturday’s Barbury International fixture, and Topham is now a well-established member of Racetech’s professional commentary roster.
Making the most of such opportunities when they arise remains an excellent route into the sport for an aspiring young caller, and Will Bowler has proven more enterprising than any in securing 17 engagements in just his third full season.
