'Best figure since Harry Angel in 2017' - Minzaal makes his mark in Sprint Cup
The Betfair Sprint Cup didn't look a vintage race beforehand, but to win with such authority Minzaal has to rate an above-average winner of the Group 1 sprint, building on career best figures from his two previous outings with another improved Racing Post Rating of 125.
That improvement is underlined by his giving third-placed Rohaan a 7lb bigger beating than their Hackwood Stakes meeting at Newbury in July, while his superiority at the weekend over three-year-old pair and last-time-out winners, Go Bears Go and Dubawi Legend, was even greater.
While five non-runners reduced the maximum field to 12, only Kinross figured at single figure odds among them and it still looked a competitive, if not top drawer, race.
