Deadline day to enter Cheltenham Festival mini game and transfer in new talent
There are important decisions to be made this week but, before the punting even starts, it is time to make your final selections for the Tote Ten To Follow Cheltenham mini game and to transfer new talent into your Ten To Follow squads.
The deadline for both is 10pm on Monday so if you keep up with the unfolding news at racingpost.com you will have the benefit of knowing final fields for the first two days of the festival before making your choices.
In the main game you might be sitting pretty with a handful of horses who have not only been the top points scorers this season (see table, below) but who are heading the betting for this week’s contests and likely to take their tallies higher.
If so, then making the two substitutions allowed might be enough to push you into contention for the game’s £104,832 first prize. If two substitutions are unlikely to be enough then you may want to enter the mini game to give yourself the chance of glory over the next four days and a substantial prize that will be determined by the number of entries. All stakes will be redistributed as prizes and payouts reach down to 500th position.
New names who have made their reputations since the season started have been added to the list of horses you can select, including Gold Cup-bound Royale Pagaille, Supreme Novices’ contender Metier, Triumph Hurdle hotpots Tritonic and Zanahiyr and Willie Mullins’ Ballymore hope Gaillard Du Mesnil and Champion Hurdle dark horse James Du Berlais.
The mini game, which you can enter , costs £5 per stable and there is a free-to-play game (one free entry per person), for which prizes include Cheltenham annual membership.
And if you’re playing the mini game make sure you share your stable on Twitter using #TenToFollow for a chance of winning a share in a Paul Nicholls-trained newcomer, courtesy of Old Gold Racing.
