Ger Lyons is keen for the Irish Flat Classics to be staged, regardless of where they can be placed in the new-look season once racing can safely resume.

Uncertainty surrounds the composition of the 2020 Irish Flat season after only last month's season opener at Naas was staged before the government cancelled all sporting events until April 19 at the earliest.

Horse Racing Ireland has said the emphasis will be on the Flat when racing starts again and trainers, including Lyons, want as much of the Pattern programme to survive as possible.
