Britain's racecourses losing more than £8 million a month warns RCA chief

British racecourses are losing £8.2 million a month due to the suspension of racing caused by the Covid-19 outbreak and even a return to racing behind closed doors could result in further losses for the tracks involved.

Racecourse Association chief executive David Armstrong said Britain's 59 racecourses had been under huge economic pressure since racing halted on March 17.

"I don't think people have yet completely grasped how difficult the current financial situation is for racecourses," he added.
