Confirmed runners and riders for the Lincoln at Doncaster on Saturday
Thirty years on from his first success in the race with High Low, William Haggas is the most-represented trainer for Doncaster's SBK Lincoln (3.35) as he seeks a record-breaking fifth win in the race, with a maximum field of 22 declared for the £100,000 handicap.
The unbeaten Mujtaba leads the Newmarket-based trainer's challenge with Cieren Fallon coming in for the ride, with Shadwell's retained jockey Jim Crowley engaged for the plum rides on Mohaafeth and Hukum at Meydan on Saturday.
Also in Dubai is Haggas's stable jockey and newly-wed Tom Marquand, so Rossa Ryan takes the ride on Ametist for Cheveley Park Stud, who won the race in 2010 with Penitent. Steve Donohoe will carry the 2018-winning silks of Addeybb, Haggas's last winner in the race, aboard Irish Admiral to complete the trainer's three-strong line-up.
Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum is also represented by the Simon and Ed Crisord-trained Saleymm who makes his first start since a wind op and first on turf since his debut.
3.35 Doncaster Saturday: SBK Lincoln Handicap racecard and betting
Charlie Appleby has landed two of the last five runnings of the Lincoln and he holds a strong chance with another Godolphin-owned representative Modern News, who has course form in the book and returns from a decent run in Listed company in Meydan last month.
Notre Belle Bete and David Probert will be hoping to buck the trend of Lincoln Trial winners and provide Andrew Balding with a first win in the race, although no winner of the Wolverhampton trial has followed up in the main event in the last decade. Meanwhile last year's runner-up Brunch will hope to go one better off a 4lb higher mark.
