Confirmed runners and riders for the 2022 Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse
Gordon Elliott has declared a dozen for the BoyleSports Irish Grand National (5.00) at Fairyhouse as he goes gung-ho in attempting to win the Easter Monday marathon for a second time, four years after General Principle provided him with his first victory.
Davy Russell has yet to win Ireland’s most valuable jumps race and he will be on board Mount Ida, who got rid of Denis O'Regan at the very first fence in the Randox Grand National. Jack Kennedy has opted to ride Frontal Assault – one of eight runners in the race for Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown House Stud.
Eleven of Elliott's 12 are guaranteed a run but Definite Plan is second reserve and will need two to come out by 10am on Sunday to complete the trainer's dozen.

Six of the final field of 30 showed up in the Randox Grand National at Aintree last Saturday – with School Boy Hours, Enjoy D'Allen, Death Duty, Samcro and Run Wild Fred joining Mount Ida in the line-up.
The ante-post favourite has long been the novice Gaillard Du Mesnil and champion jockey Paul Townend will take the ride.
Rather surprisingly, Townend has yet to win the Irish National and Willie Mullins thinks he is up against it this year too as he feels the stats are very much against Gaillard Du Mesnil.
Mullins said earlier this week: "Statistically it's not in Gaillard Du Mesnil's favour at all. He's in good form and I was pleased with his run at Cheltenham, but it looks like he'll be carrying a lot of weight and the Irish Grand National is not usually won by horses carrying so much weight.
"You have to go back to Flashing Steel to find a winner who carried as much as Gaillard Du Mesnil will have to and that was back in the last century. It's not going to be easy for him."
The big mover in the last week has been Max Flamingo. Trained by Francis Casey, son of the late, great Peter of Flemenstar fame, he was available at 16-1 with BoyleSports at the start of the week but was down to 8-1 on Friday morning.
Casey said: "I think he's got a big chance, I really do. I'm convinced he will stay and, with a bit of luck in running, I think he's going to take a bit of beating."
Like Townend and Russell, Rachael Blackmore is also searching for her maiden victory in the Fairyhouse showpiece and she teams up with Full Time Score, a winner over three miles at the track in February.
Noel Meade, whose sole success in the race arrived 20 years ago courtesy of The Bunny Boiler, has three runners. Stable jockey Sean Flanagan is on School Boy Hours, Bryan Cooper is on board Leinster National winner Diol Ker, while Eoin Walsh has got the call-up for Lieutenant Command.
