In a week when there has been a general election, John Ferguson resigning from Godolphin after 25 years and diplomatic incidents in the Middle East, there has been a surprising amount of space set aside for Matt Chapman and his presentation skills.

Chapman found himself in the headlines after being bumped from the Derby trophy presentation at Epsom, allegedly due to his boisterous style not being to the taste of certain members of the hierarchy at the course.

The decision was taken following his referral to John Gosden as ‘Johnny G’ at the Oaks presentation, and it seems the comment caught the winning trainer by surprise as well.
