Change of direction for Madeleine Tylicki after saddling her final runner
Madeleine Tylicki has called time on her short training career after saddling her final runner at Galway on Sunday afternoon.
The Newbridge-based yard in which Tylicki sent out First To Boogie, her first winner at Punchestown in November 2016, will continue as normal with Andrew Kinirons taking over the licence.
Tylicki has cited an ambition to pursue other opportunities within the industry along with spending more time with her family as the deciding factors in taking a backseat in the operation.
She explained: "A couple of different things have led to this decision. I'd like to pursue other opportunities in the future but, at the same time, I'm so grateful for all of the experiences I have had in racing. I greatly appreciate all the support I've had from my owners.
"Andrew Kinirons has taken out his licence so it's business as usual and all of the horses will be staying here, the only difference is that I will be taking a back step.
"There are a few smart two-year-olds that Andrew has to run in the coming weeks and I'm absolutely certain that he will have plenty of success in the future."
Asked about a training highlight, she said: "First To Boogie meant so much to me as it was just three weeks after Freddie's accident but I can't say that one stood out over any other because every single winner meant so much to me.
"It is so competitive in Ireland and everyone is on their A-game here and when things do work out, it's magic."
