The temperature of the jumps season is set to rise at Gowran Park on Saturday with Henry de Bromhead revealing Queen Mother Champion Chase heroine Put The Kettle On will return to action in the Grade 2 PWC Champion Chase.

Aidan Coleman will once again be aboard the mare in a race De Bromhead won four times between 2011 and 2014 with his former superstar Sizing Europe.

De Bromhead has also handed an entry to Abbey Magic while Willie Mullins could be represented by Royal Rendezvous and Easy Game, who finished first and second in the Galway Plate earlier in the season.

PWC Champion Chase entries

Unbeaten in four starts at Cheltenham, including in the Arkle and Champion Chase, Put The Kettle On has not won in Ireland since landing a novice chase at Wexford in September 2019.

De Bromhead revealed that provided Saturday goes to plan, Put The Kettle On could bid to land back-to-back Shloer Chases and a fifth win at Prestbury Park in November.

He said: "She seems to be in great form and everything has gone to plan since she came back in from her summer holidays. We're hoping to start her back there as long as the ground is suitable. There is rain forecast this week, so hopefully it is.

"The plan is for Aidan to come over and ride. She's obviously a mare who has a very good record at Cheltenham and something like the Shloer could work again this season. She looks great and she has done really well so we're happy with her.

"It's a race we've been very lucky in down through the years so we're looking forward to running her and we'll see how we go."

'She has gone from strength to strength'

No rider gets on better with Put The Kettle On than Coleman, who said: "It's great to have her back in action again and I'm very much looking forward to coming over to ride.

"She's been a fantastic mare for everyone concerned – the owners, Henry and myself – and is obviously the only mare to have won a Champion Chase.

"She has gone from strength to strength since winning the Arkle Trial at Cheltenham a couple of seasons back and Henry has done an amazing job with her. It's very exciting to be coming home to ride a mare as good as her."

The seven-runner field is completed by the John Ryan-trained Waitnsee, the 155-rated Castlegrace Paddy and the Gordon Elliott-trained Hardline.
