Cazoo Derby day at Epsom sold out after 'phenomenal' ticket demand
Tickets for the Cazoo Derby day at Epsom on Saturday have sold out, with the racecourse anticipating a 36,000 crowd to match 2019.
Only 4,000 tickets were sold for last year's Covid-affected Derby festival but with no restrictions in place this time around spectators are flooding to the Downs.
Racegoers can still experience the day's racing for free on the Hill, and have the bonus this year of celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Phil White, London Regional Director for Jockey Club Racecourses, said: "With the Cazoo Derby forming part of the official celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and taking place over the special bank holiday weekend, the demand to be at Epsom has been absolutely phenomenal and we are now sold out in all paid enclosures on Derby day.
"Anyone planning to attend who has not been able to secure a ticket for one of our paid enclosures can still head to areas of the Hill, which are free to access and offer a great chance to be part of what will be a special day.
"It is a great endorsement for the place that the Derby holds in people's hearts, the chance to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee and the carnival atmosphere that only the Downs can provide."
Tickets are still available for Friday's card, which features the Cazoo Oaks and Coronation Cup. Tickets can be purchased here.
