Can today's challenger keep the punters' good run going against Graeme Rodway?

Introducing Punter v the Pro, our new tipping competition in which Racing Post readers go head-to-head with top tipster Graeme Rodway.

The format is simple: the punter and the pro both give six selections in ITV races decided by us and whoever comes out on top based on level-stakes profit to SP is the winner. The prize? Sheer pride!

The results will be shared the following day in , our free daily newsletter. To give yourself the chance to take on our pro in the future, sign up here to On The Nose and contact us at onthenose@racingpost.com.

Yesterday's result:A win for the punter!

Fugitif's victory at 6-1 in the 2m3½f handicap chase at Chepstow (in which Graeme's 12-1 choice Golden Whisky was second) was enough to give the punters another success.

G-Rod will be hoping for some better luck today after finding no winners but three more runners-up, to add to his four second-placed finishes from Boxing Day.

The score so far: Punters 3-2 The Pro

The punter . . .

Occupation: Postman

. . . and the pro

Graeme Rodway is one of the longest-serving members of the Racing Post's tipping and analysis team.

A two-time top-three finisher in the Flat version of the national naps competition under the pseudonym 'The Edge', G-Rod has a proven record of tipping success over a period of more than ten years and now specialises in hurdles races over jumps and staying races on the Flat.

The picks

1.10 Leopardstown

Mark Nassau:Vina Ardanza

Just failed over 2m4f at Naas last time. Upped in trip here which should suit and Ben Harvey takes 5lb off.

Graeme Rodway:Maze Runner

Loves this course and has lots of good form in big-field handicaps. This has been the aim since his seventh in the November Handicap on the Flat.

1.45 Leopardstown

Mark:Flooring Porter

Inadequate trip last time out but he should reverse the form over 3m with Home By The Lee.

Graeme:Zanahiyr

Has long looked like a stayer in the making and could improve enough to shake up Flooring Porter on his first start at 3m.

2.20 Leopardstown

Mark:A Plus Tard

Non-runner

Graeme:Kemboy

Has a superb record at Leopardstown and shaped like he was back to his best when second at Down Royal last time.

2.35 Leicester

Mark:Milldam

Headed at the last hurdle at Hexham last time when making the running and this slightly shorter trip could help him.

Graeme:Playful Saint

Tough race to call but Playful Saint was second to the top-class Love Envoi at Sandown last time and a reproduction should be enough.

2.55 Leopardstown

Mark:Grand Roi

Still in contention when falling last time and he has a good chance of making amends if brushing up with the jumping.

Graeme: I Am Maximus

Not a great race for a bet and I'm not a huge fan of this horse, but the race is full of disappointing types and he should be too good for them.

3.10 Leicester

Mark:Tap Tap Boom

Excellent chance of completing the hat-trick with young Jay Tidball taking 7lb off the topweight.

Graeme:Dame Du Soir

Took advantage of a plummeting mark when scoring at Cheltenham last time and still well handicapped after a 6lb rise.
