Can anyone stop Oaks favourite Emily Upjohn after Musidora Stakes triumph?
The 2022 Flat season is in full swing after the first two Classics, the 2,000 Guineas and 1,000 Guineas.
Attention now turns towards Epsom with the Cazoo Derby and Oaks next month and market movers come thick and fast as the key Classic trials continue to be run. Our Classic Clues series has you covered.
Here's a recap of the action on Wednesday and how it has impacted the Classic betting, while we mark your card with key names to note throughout the Dante meeting at York.
Wednesday round-up: Emily Upjohn new Oaks favourite after dominating Musidora
Emily Upjohn sent out a powerful statement in the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York as she finished five and a half lengths clear of fellow Classic rival Life Of Dreams.
The John and Thady Gosden-trained filly justified her claims for the Cazoo Oaks next month and has become the clear favourite ahead of Aidan O'Brien's Tuesday.
Coral made the daughter of Sea The Stars the 5-4 market leader, while Paddy Power were offering odds of 6-4 from 7-2.
Meanwhile, Highfield Princess saw her price for the Platinum Jubilee at Royal Ascot slashed from 50-1 to 14-1 with most firms as she took the 1895 Duke Of York Clipper Logistics Stakes.
What they say
Frankie Dettori, jockey aboard Emily Upjohn
"She passed a good test. The ground was much softer than we thought, everybody was in trouble round the bend and I was trying to keep her together.
"At the two-furlong [marker] I asked her the question. She did quicken but she laboured, she found the ground very testing. But look, she won a trial by five [and a half lengths] and I'm delighted."
Gavin Ryan, jockey of Derby contender Piz Badile
"He's got an extra bit of class to go with it as well. It was the same last time at Leopardstown. Buckaroo passed me in the Ballysax but my fella has so much heart and just wouldn't accept defeat so he got back up to win. He's a gorgeous horse to ride. He's a big, relaxed colt with a really high cruising speed.
"There are plenty of Aidan's in there with chances but I do think our fella has as good a chance as any in the race and I wouldn't swap him for anything."

All eyes on . . . Derby contenders in the Dante
A field of nine take their chance in the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Dante Stakes on Thursday (3.35), a key trial for the Derby and the feature of York's three-day meeting.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained Desert Crown leads the market and is a general 11-4 shot to remain unbeaten after winning well on his only juvenile start.
The son of Nathaniel is the ante-post gamble for the Derby and sits behind Aidan O'Brien's Stone Age and Changingoftheguard in the Derby betting at a general 6-1.
El Bodegon has already shortened for the Epsom Classic without being seen since winning the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud on his last juvenile start, where he took the notable scalp of current Derby favourite Stone Age.
Bluegrass is the only runner for Aidan O'Brien and if he were to be victorious he would not only strengthen his own claims for Classic glory but also Piz Badile, who beat him in the Ballysax Stakes.
John Gosden has a fantastic record in this contest and in 2015 won it with Golden Horn before winning the Derby, this year he, and son Thady, will hope Magisterial can provide them with a live contender.
Royal Patronage, last seen finishing eighth in the 2,000 Guineas, will also bid to book his place at Epsom for Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, owners that have already tasted Classic success with Cachet in the 1,000 Guineas.
