Supersub Scudamore on board National fancy Time To Get Up in Grand Sefton
Tom Scudamore is relishing the prospect of partnering leading Randox Grand National contender Time To Get Up over Aintree's famous fences for the first time after he received the call-up for Saturday's Grand Sefton Handicap Chase.
The eight-year-old has been ridden by trainer Jonjo O'Neill's son Jonjo O'Neill Jr in all four of his starts in Britain – including when beating Scottish Grand National winner Mighty Thunder in the Midlands National in March – but O'Neill is unable to maintain the partnership after being ruled out for at least six weeks with a shoulder injury.

Scudamore has been supersub for the Jackdaws Castle trainer already this season when he won on Soaring Glory in a Listed handicap hurdle at Ascot last Saturday and he partnered Cloth Cap when the 11-2 favourite was pulled up in last season's Grand National.
Scudamore said: "I'm delighted to be given the call-up to ride, but it's unfortunate for Jonjo as it's his ride. Hopefully it will be the beginning of a good season for the horse and can start him on to bigger and better things back to Aintree. It's a real pleasure to be called upon when needed and asked to ride such nice horses for Jonjo."
Time To Get Up is a general 20-1 chance for next year's Grand National alongside fellow JP McManus-owned stars Minella Times and Any Second Now, who finished first and third in the race last season.
One leading fancy for the Grand Sefton unlikely to line up on Saturday is the Nicky Henderson-trained Caribean Boy, who is set to wait a week for the Paddy Power Gold Cup.
Bryony Frost has been handed the chance to land a first success over the Grand National fences aboard the Paul Nicholls-trained Red Risk.
Frost, who partnered Frodon to victory in the Champion Chase at Down Royal last Saturday, ended up in hospital on her last start over the fences when falling on Yala Enki in this year's National.
Middleham Park racing manager Tom Palin said: "He ran an absolute blinder in the Prelude Chase at Market Rasen. Bryony keeps the ride and in the form she's in who would bet against her?
"She got a good tune out of him last time and if he hadn't been slightly hampered by a rival and hadn't pecked on landing at the last, she was very confident he'd have won. We're going there very happy with our horse – although it looks very competitive."
