What action the bookmakers are taking . . .
![Brian Keenan: 'The whole pitch rules, and the way that the on-course bookmakers and AIR work, I think it's time to shred that completely.'](/_next/image/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fs3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com%2Fprod-media-racingpost%2Fprod%2Fimages%2F169_1008%2F23670726985f-14469.jpg&w=3840&q=75)
Betfair
Paying out on the 50-1 shot and Fyre Cay and voiding all losers
Betfair spokeswoman Katie Baylis said: “Clearly this is an unprecedented occurrence, but in fairness to punters Betfair Sportsbook will pay out on the 2nd placed horse as the winner Fyre Cay (SP 4-6) and void all other selections as a gesture of goodwill. We have also let all bets we already paid out on Mandarin Princess stand.”
BoyleSports
Paying out on the 50-1 shot and Fyre Cay
Aoife Heffron, spokeswoman for BoyleSports said: “The result at Yarmouth is an unparalleled one and therefore we have decided to stick by our loyal customers and pay out on both 50-1 Mandarin Princess and 4-6 favourite Fyre Cay, across single and multiple bets, and we have voided all other selections in the race as part of our fair play payment.”
Coral
Paying out on the 50-1 shot and Fyre Cay
Coral's David Stevens said: "We don't know yet how this mix-up occurred, but clearly a big mistake has been made, and those who backed the odds-on favourite Fyre Cay in good faith have been robbed by the presence of a year-older rival running in the race in error.
"We had already paid out an admittedly small sum on the horse who wasn't Millie's Kiss before the mix-up was realised, and have made the decision to make an ex-gratia payment to those customers who backed the beaten favourite, as Fyre Cay was clearly the moral winner of the race.
"It's a customer service goodwill gesture that will cost us more than £50,000, and once again the bookmakers have been left to pick up the tab for racing's cock-up."
Ladbrokes
Paying out on the 50-1 shot and Fyre Cay
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: "Following on from the drama at Yarmouth today we have now decided to also pay out on the favourite. The favourite would have won the race had the three-year-old not have been involved so it's only fair punters don't suffer the consequences of this mistake."
Paddy Power
Paying out on the 50-1 shot and Fyre Cay and voiding all losers
Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: “This is like a plot out of a Dick Francis novel which has catastrophically gone astray and we’re paying out on the 50-1 three-year-old winner of the juvenile race and the odds-on second to do our very best for punters in what is a most unusual occurrence.”
Sky Bet
Paying out on the 50-1 shot and Fyre Cay and the third as the placed horse
Michael Shinners said: “This is an expensive goodwill gesture but to be fair to Sky Bet customers it feels like the only thing to do.”
William Hill
Paying out on the result as 1. Fyre Cay, 2. Take Shelter
The new forecast dividend is £2.51. We have also settled the original winner Mandarin Princess as a winner.
Bet Victor
Paying out on the 50-1 shot and Fyre Cay and promoted the third horse home to second for each-way purposes
