'We'll give it a real good go' - Paul Nicholls keen to support Harry Cobden and Freddie Gingell in respective title bids
Trainer Paul Nicholls has said he will do all he can to support Harry Cobden's defence of his jockeys' championship this season, but also plans to help Freddie Gingell in the race to be champion conditional rider.
Cobden, 25, became the first Ditcheat stable jockey to win the title when edging out Sean Bowen in the final few weeks of last season, but he is just ninth in the standings this time around after a knee injury halted his progress in August and September.
His tally of 22 winners is still higher than at this point last year, although Bowen and former champion Harry Skelton have already reached the half-century mark and are shorter prices on the Betfair Exchange.
